Minister of Law Insisted in Talking about the Discourse about Government Regulation Related to Prisoners’ Remission Discount.

Wacana revisi Peraturan Pemerintahan (PP) Nomor 99 Tahun 2015 oleh Kementerian Hukum dan HAM menimbulkan pro dan kontra. PP itu dinilai banyak menguntungkan pelaku korupsi, karena banyak mendapatkan remisi tahanan.

Revision discourse about Government Regulation (PP) No 99 2015 by the minister of law and justice creates positive and contradictive issues. The current Government regulation considered taking side with the corruptors, because they get many arrest remission. 

Menteri Hukum dan HAM, Yasonna H Laoly, menegaskan revisi PP itu tetap akan dilakukan. Menurutnya, jika PP itu nantinya sudah resmi direvisi, hak semua narapidana untuk mendapatkan remisi, bahkan bagi narapidana korupsi.

The Minister of Law and Justice, Yasonna H Laoly confirmed that the Government regulation revision would happen. He said that if the regulation officially revised, it would become the prisoners’ right to get the remission, even for those convicted criminals for corruption.

“Hukuman yang dijatuhkan terhadap terdakwa korupsi adalah ranah pengadilan. Tetapi, setelah masuk dalam lembaga pemasyarakatan merupakan ranah Kemenkum HAM,” kata Menteri di kantornya di Jakarta, Selasa malam, 17 Maret 2015.  

“The sentence would be pass on to the defendants of corruption by the court domain. But, after they put are inside the prison it belongs to the ministry law and justice,” said the minister in his office in Jakarta, Tuesday night, March 17 2015.
